Résumé
We begin this volume on Practical Reasoning in Human Affairs by printing for the first time a text of Chaim Perelman's remarks delivered at The Ohio State University on November 16 and 17, 1982. His first presentation, given on the 16th, was an address entitled: "Old and New Rhetoric." This was followed by a forum period in which members of the faculty and student body had an opportunity to participate in a dialogue with the speaker. On the next day a select group attended a seminar session with Professor Perelman. The format consisted of questions and responses which were a natural extension of the earlier lecture.
