Ecological psychology
pp. 17-60
Résumé
In this chapter, I offer an overview of the main principles and innovations of ecological psychology. First, I introduce the central commitments: embodiment, situatedness, and non-representationalism. Then, I focus on the main concepts of the ecological approach (the organism–environment system, ecological information, and specificity), showing that affordances can only be properly understood within this ecological framework.
