Syntactic space

Résumé
Space, as they say, is everywhere. Since we are visual creatures and visual experience is spatial, space (with a visual tinge) dominates our world. While visual perception is enormously useful—it's the only sensory modality that transcends our earthly existence; no other sense can grasp stars and galaxies—it also prevents us from understanding the world of other creatures.
